Klaus Maria Brandauer

Born in Austria, Klaus Maria Brandauer studied at the Stuttgart Hochschule für Musik und Drama. He began his acting Career in theatre in 1962, and made his film debut in 1972. His many film appearances include Hendrik Höfgen (Mephisto), Maximilian Largo (Never Say Never Again), Baron Bror Blixen (Out of Africa, Golden Globe Award), Georges Danton (La Revolution française), Alex Larson (White Fang), Jan Jedermann (Everyman's Feast) and Wilhelm Reich (The Strange Case of Wilhelm Reich).

He also works widely in theatre and spent two decades (1972-92) as a member of the Vienna Burgtheater. Recent theatre appearances include King Lear (Vienna Burgtheater) Krapp in Krapp's Last Tape (Touring all over Europe).  His directorial credits include Die Dreigroschenoper in Berlin. He is a Professor at the Max-Reinhardt Seminar, Vienna and won many Awards for his theatre and film acting.
